WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
I hope this will give you a taste of some of my art and what inspires me.

I have drawn and painted all my life. Most of my paintings are landscapes, but other themes have been family, figure studies, portraits, domestic interiors and fantasy. I strive to convey my sense of wonder at the world around me through my art and to bring out the magic of commonplace things and ‘the everyday’. I paint mainly in acrylic on board, using the versatility of the paint to create delicate watercolour effects and overlay with stronger pigments. I like to use repetition and rhythm of line to suggest the rhythms and oneness of life.

My paintings are usually quite large and come framed unless specified otherwise. They vary in size – the average being approx. 800 × 1200mm although they can be ‘made to order.’ Similarly current prices range from approx. NZ$2000 – $4,000. 1970 Accepted at Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland
1970’s Exhibited in NZ Academy Exhibitions in Wellington
1984 Saw his first major solo exhibition at the Hastings Cultural Centre (now the Hawkes Bay Exhibition Centre)
1985 Joined “Spectrum” art group & exhibited with them for several years
1987 Received Merit Award – Norsewear Exhibition. “Time Out” for several years raising a family
1997 Solo Exhibition, Vidals Winery, Hastings
1999 A selection of Art works exhibited at the Community Arts Centre, Hastings. Also commissioned to produce a ‘millennium painting’ which featured on wine labels for Peak Restaurant, Havelock North
2000 Peak Paintings – Solo exhibition, Peak Restaurant, Havelock North
2001 Exhibited a series of Paintings of Casa Lavanda at the Electra Gallery, Waipukurau
2001 – 2002 Guest artist at the Otane Arts & Crafts exhibition, CHB. Worked on Commissions
2003 – 2004 Worked & travelled abroad for 12 months, primarily Great Britain, Portugal, Spain & Italy – inspiration for European paintings
2006 Exhibited at Emerge Gallery, Wellington. Art work selected for Hawkes Bay Review
2007 Exhibited at Millwood Gallery, Wellington. Art works selected for Hawkes Bay Review and by Oxted Resources for “Save the Children” Greeting Cards
2009 “Seascapes” Exhibition at Red Peach Gallery, Ahuriri, Napier
2009 to present – Exhibiting at New Zealand Art Show, working on Commissions & regularly exhibiting at the Heritage Gallery – Cambridge Waikato
2012 Exhibition – ‘Aotearoa Landscapes’ – Heritage Gallery, Cambridge
